- Majoring in organizational behavior and human resources
- Enjoys playing drums, singing, playing sports, doing any outdoor activity, notably riding four wheelers and snowboarding, and spending time with friends and family.
- Sports hero is Roger Bannister, first man to break the four minute mile mark
- Chose BYU for its great education, nationally respected distance program and spiritual environment
- Also recruited by Utah State, Boise State and Syracuse

- Member of the National Honor Society
- Ranked 11th in high school class
- Member of two Idaho state championship cross country teams (2008 and 2009)
- Member of Idaho state medley relay championship team in 2010
- Three-time Idaho state champion (2010-2012) and division record holder in 800m (1:52.99)
- Idaho state champion in 1600m (2011)
- Idaho state champion and record holder in 3200m (9:04, 2012)
- Holds five school records (4x800m, medley, 800m, 1600m and 3200m)
- High school coach is Marty Grindstaff
- Started running in seventh grade after watching his older siblings compete
