Career Summary
Mitch Payne came to BYU as a first-team all-state selection from Weber High School. Payne saw action in all 52 games of his career and lettered all four seasons. As the Cougars' primary field goal and PAT kicker, he set a conference and BYU record of 334 kicking points and 193 PATs. He was also credited with 47 total field goals and a career-long 49-yard field goal as a junior. Payne received several national and conference awards for his performance both on the field and in the classroom.
