HOCKLEY, Texas – The Cougars (299-294-305–898) took eighth place in the Big 12 Championship at Houston Oaks Golf Course on Thursday.
Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul led the Cougars this week at the tournament, tying for 14th place. The freshman made three birdies in the final round, bringing her total to 11, the fourth most of any player. Aramkul also ranked highest among individuals in the par 4 category, averaging 4.42 strokes per hole throughout the week.
No. 19 Arizona took home the team title with No. 8 Arizona State finishing in second. Oklahoma State, No. 15 TCU and K-State rounded out the top five.
Sophomore Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan (75-74-75–224) finished tied for 31st at 11-over par. Barragan carded the second-most pars out of the individual field with 37.
Senior Alexa Udom finished tied for 51st and Adeline (Anderson) Wach completed the tournament in a tie for 55th. Junior Lily McCauley took 63rd.
