Bonds hurdles to BYU's No. 9 all-time mark

OGDEN, Utah - Zoey Bonds clocked a personal best of 13.55 in the 100-meter hurdles to capture BYU's No. 9 all-time mark Friday afternoon at Stewart Stadium.

The junior from Las Vegas, Nevada won the event on her way to a program top-10 time. 

"It’s always nice to run a personal best and start to see the results you’ve been working for," said Bonds. "I am super excited because I know there’s more to come."

Freshman Cortnie Barker won the women's high jump with a collegiate best of 1.77m/5-9.75. Teammate Summer Young placed second with a personal-best clearance of 1.74m/5-8.5. 

Gretchen Hoekstre won the discus in a season-best throw of 54.50m/178-5.75. The senior from Seaside, Oregon holds the program's school record in the event with a mark of 57.04m/187-2.

Paje Rasmussen won the 100m dash in a new personal-best time of 11.72. The sophomore from Draper, Utah was the lone women to break the 12-second barrier in the field. 

Other top performances from the Weber State Spring Classic include Lindsey Middleton's second-place finish and personal-best time of 13.90 in the 100m hurdles, Emily Ellis-Dalley's fourth-place finish and outdoor personal best of 55.06 in the 400m and the Cougars' second-place finish in the 4x100m relay with a time of 45.87.
