WASHINGTON, Utah – Men’s golf sophomore Peter Kim won the 2025 Coral Canyon Amateur on Saturday evening at Coral Canyon Golf Course by four strokes.

“Coming into this tournament I wasn’t really setting any expectations for myself since I was coming off the holiday and just wanted to have some fun,” Kim said. “It was my first tournament since the end of the fall season and it felt good to be back playing and start the year off with a win!”

Kim carded rounds of 65-69–134 to finish 10-under par at the tournament. The Salt Lake City native finished four strokes ahead of second place Ben Wilson.

The highlights of Kim’s play were a bogey-free opening round and recording 12 birdies throughout the competition. 

Kim birdied three of his first six holes on day two. Despite bogeys on his seventh and 10th hole, Kim regained momentum and marked two birdies afterward to finish strong.

Two other Cougars participated in this event. Senior Zac Jones (70-73–143) shot 1-under to finish tied for sixth. Jones carded seven birdies throughout the tournament. Jackson Mauss (75-73–75) finished 4-over and tied for tied for 21st.
