LANGHORNE, Pa. — BYU center Connor Pay was today named one of four national finalists for the 15th Annual Pop Warner College Football Award.
Established in 2010, the prestigious award recognizes a senior football player who has shown leadership on the field, in the classroom and in the community, and serves as a role model to Pop Warner young student-athletes.
Pay, a 6-5, 315-pound senior, from Alpine, Utah, was previously selected as a semifinalist for the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy by the National Football Foundation and was on the Rimington Trophy watchlist for a third consecutive season.
Prior to the 2024 season, Pay was named to the 2024 Athlon Sports Preseason All-Big 12 Team and to the East-West Shrine Bowl Watch List, which identifies the nation's top NFL draft eligible players for the season. He was also on the watch list for he Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.
In addition to his success on the field, Pay also excels in the classroom with a 3.70 GPA in entrepreneurial management. He was named CSC Academic All-District in both 2023 and 2024 and was selected to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team following the 2023 season.
Pay is also very active in community service, volunteering his time with several organizations including Tabitha’s Way Food Pantry, Make-A-Wish Foundation, BYU True Blue Hero program and regularly visits children who are struggling with illness or accidents at the Utah Valley Hospital.
Joining Pay as a finalist for the 15th Annual Pop Warner College Football Award is quarterback Fernando Mendoza of Cal, quarterback Jalen Milroe of Alabama and tight end Josh Kattus or Kentucky.
The 2024 winner of the Pop Warner College Football Award will be announced on Dec. 9 as part of the 67th Pop Warner Super Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
