IRVING, Texas — BYU diver Alexia Jackson Hansen was named Big 12 Women’s Diver of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Jackson Hansen swept the women’s diving events at the Intermountain Shootout at Colorado Mesa’s El Pomar Natatorium in Grand Junction, Colorado on Oct. 4-5. In the Cougars’ season-opening meet, Jackson Hansen won the 3-meter (six dives) with 306 points and the 1-meter (11 dives) with 426.53 points.
Both wins for Jackson Hansen came over host Colorado Mesa’s Jenna Hurley, including a 54-point advantage on the runner-up Hurley in the 3-meter competition. With the help of Jackson Hansen’s diving victories, BYU women’s swim and dive overcame the Mavericks by a combined two-day score of 274-136.

The junior from Mesa, Arizona is now a two-time Big 12 Women’s Diver of the Week after winning the honor a season ago on Jan. 24.
In 2024-25, Jackson Hansen will look to improve upon a sophomore campaign in which she earned All-Big 12 Second Team status on platform and advanced to the championship round on both 1 and 3-meter at NCAA Zone E Diving.
Jackson Hansen and the Cougars return to action against Big 12 and SEC competition with a tri-meet versus TCU and Texas A&M in College Station, Texas Oct. 18-19.
