PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s tennis is heading to Las Vegas for the Mountain Regionals on Oct. 17. All of the Cougars will be competing in the weekend competition.
The Mountain Regional will be competed between BYU and 15 other schools from the west side of the nation. The players will compete in both single and doubles. The doubles teams will be Wally Thayne and Zach Fuchs, Hardy Owen and Otto Schreiner, Adam Chodur and Redd Owen, TJ Wells and Tygen Goldammer and Alex Edmonston and David Duong.

Schools Competing (16): Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Denver, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, Reno, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, UNLV, Utah, Utah State, Weber State
Singles qualifying will be played on Thursday. Each player in the singles qualifying will need to win two matches to get into the main draw. The main draw for both the singles and doubles will begin on Friday.
The qualifying draw will feature, Wells, Edmonston, Duong and Schreiner. The rest of the team will go directly into the main draw.
None of the BYU players competed last weekend as they had a break after the Bengal Invitational. The Bengal Invitational featured Edmonston, Schreiner and Duong.
This will be the first time this fall season that the entirety of the Cougars will be competing in the same tournament. Fuchs and Thayne will both make their singles debut for the fall season. This will be at least the second tournament for all ten players. Play will conclude on Tuesday, Oct. 22 for both singles and doubles.
