BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — BYU senior Bobo Huang competed at Bakersfield over the weekend and made it to the quarterfinals for singles and finals for doubles.
"College tennis is such an amazing pathway for professional tennis," said head coach Holly Hasler. "If our players are pursuing those dreams, we love the opportunity to help them along the way. Bobo rose to the occasion and improved with every match, and it was fun to be a part of such a great week for her."
In the second round, Huang defeated the No. 5 singles player in three sets, then lost in the quarterfinals after putting up a fight in the second set.
Huang and her doubles partner Mana Ayukawa were ranked second in the tournament and had a first-round bye. They advanced to the finals and lost a close match, forcing a tiebreak in the first set.
