PROVO, Utah — The BYU women’s soccer team returns to South Field for its first Big 12 matchup of the season against Arizona State on Thursday evening.
The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT with live coverage on ESPN+.
LAST TIME ON THE FIELD. The Cougars traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas on Saturday evening, falling to the Razorbacks, 4-2.

THE COUGARS. BYU (2-3-2, 0-0 Big 12) faced the No. 6 Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday evening, falling 4-2 on Razorback Field. In her first game back after being out for five games with sickness, Erin Bailey scored off an assist from Sierra Pennock in the first half. For her first goal of the season, center back Tara Warner dribbled the ball up the spine of the field and fired off a shot from outside the 18-yard box for BYU’s second goal of the match. The Hogs had 19 shots, the most tallied against BYU so far this season.
THE SUN DEVILS. Arizona State (5-0-2, 0-0 Big 12) faced Utah Tech on Sunday afternoon, taking home the 2-1 win to complete its unbeaten non-conference slate with a goal in the final seconds of the match. Cameron Valladares scored with 25 seconds remaining on the clock to solidify the win. The Sun Devils outshot Utah Tech 21-7, with six shots on frame.
COUGARS VS. SUN DEVILS. The Cougars and Sun Devils have played four times previously, with BYU leading the overall series 3-1. The teams last faced each other on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005 in Arizona, with BYU taking home the win 3-1. Arizona State’s matchup with BYU will be its first Big 12 game as a new member of the conference.
