"We are excited to go into our first Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships as a program," said BYU director of track and field Ed Eyestone. "I think on both the men's and women's sides we are stronger in the outdoor season than the indoor season because we add events that are traditionally our strength, such as javelin and discus throws. Both our athletes and staff have worked very hard preparing for this. Our goal is a top-three team placement. We know we'll have to dig down deep to achieve that but ultimately we hope to finish strong."
