STILLWATER, Okla. — BYU baseball lost game one of a three-game Big 12 series at No. 19 Oklahoma State, 17-5, on Thursday at O’Brate Stadium.
Oklahoma State (28-14, 12-7) scored 17 runs on 16 hits including six home runs, while BYU (16-22, 6-16) scored five runs on seven hits in its first game in Stillwater since March 7, 2020.

The Cougars scored first in the top of the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Kuhio Aloy that scored Luke Anderson who had singled to open the game.
OSU then scored 12 unanswered runs to take a commanding 12-1 lead through five innings of play.
BYU fought back with three runs in the seventh inning to cut the Cowboy lead to 12-4. Bryker Hurdsman, Luke Anderson and Easton Jones led off the inning with consecutive walks. Collin Reuter then picked up two RBI on a single to right field and Aloy singled to left center to score Jones.
The Cowboys answered with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the seventh and tacked on two more in the eighth. Cooper Vest finished off the scoring with his eighth home run of the year, a solo shot in the ninth for a 17-5 final.
BYU and OSU will play games two and three of the Big 12 series on Friday, first at 2 p.m. CT, then at 6 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
