Sophomore James Corrigan crossed the finish line first for the Cougars, placing 12th overall in a time of 29:19.8. This was the first meet that Corrigan has led the Cougars across the finish.

“Our goal was to shoot for second and make it feel comfortable and that’s exactly what we did,” said Corrigan. “There was something special about running together and being able to have a fun time for the first half, and then tighten the screws while finishing well. It was a great day.”

Kenneth Rooks followed closely behind, placing 16th in 29:25.7 for his best finish of the season.  Lucas Bons and Joey Nokes followed moments later, both clocking a 29:25.9 to place 17th and 18th, respectively, with Bons getting the lean.

Twin brothers Garrett and Jacob Stanford followed next for BYU. Garrett finished the course in 29:48.6, placing 26th, while Jacob came in seconds later at 30:05.5 in 31st. Luke Grundvig rounded out the team finishing with a time of 30:25.3 in 49th place.

The Cougars will compete at the NCAA Division I Men’s National Championships in Earlysville, Virginia on Nov. 18. The race will be broadcast on ESPNU with coverage beginning at 11:10 a.m. ET.
