PROVO, Utah – BYU’s Wally Thayne and Zach Fuchs have been selected to compete in Oklahoma early next week at the ITA Men’s All-American Championships starting Monday, Oct. 2.
Thayne earned a spot in both the qualifying singles and doubles draws as Fuchs is a qualifying doubles selection in the tournament that runs through Oct. 8. The ITA awards entries to elite athletes across the country based on preseason rankings and UTR Ratings.
Currently, the duo is in the midst of a deep run in the main draw of the ITA Mountain Region Championship, starting 3-0 to advance to the doubles semifinal round entering Saturday.

Individual match details are not yet available. The qualifying draw features a singles draw of 128 athletes and doubles draw of 64. Thayne and Fuchs will aim to earn spots in the main draw, which begins on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

Thayne, ranked No. 103 in singles, will represent the Cougars for the second straight year at the invite-only tournament after competing in both singles and doubles in 2022. The selection marks a first for Fuchs.
