The Cougars will first line up at their first regular season home meet in two years, the Autumn Classic, on Sept. 8th at 10:30 MDT.
Saturday, Sept. 23 the men go to Panorama Farms in Earlysville, VA for the Virginia Invitational. Hosted by the titular university, this will also be the location of the men’s and women’s NCAA Championships in November.
The Cougars will look to make a postseason statement Oct. 28 at their first Big 12 Cross Country Championship taking place at the Iowa State University XC Course in Ames, IA.
Friday, Nov. 10 will see the team head to Lubbock, TX for NCAA Mountain Regional hosted by Texas Tech at the Chaparral Ridge XC Course.
The Cougars will look to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Earlysville, VA on Saturday, Nov. 18.

Veteran All American Casey Clinger returns, coming in having placed seventh in the 2022 Division I NCAA Championships with a time of 28:58.7. The senior has accrued four All-American honors, sharing the record with notable alum Conner Mantz. He is joined by fellow teammate Kenneth Rooks coming off of recent NCAA and USATF 3000 meter Steeplechase first place finishes.
Juniors Aidan Troutner and Joey Nokes add experience to a team that looks to improve upon its third-place finish at the NCAA Championships last year. Troutner ran 29.43.1 (38th -place finish) while Nokes finished with a time of 29.48.2 (52nd -place finish). Returning All American twins Davin and Creed Thompson look to bring depth to the roster, both finishing in the top 40. Davin finished in 29.28.8 (30th-place finish) and Creed with a time of 29:30.5 (35th-place finish).
Coming in as a true freshman with five other new additions, two-time Utah 5A Cross Country State Champion Dalton Mortenson will join the roster after recently returning from serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bountiful, UT. At the 2019 Foot Locker National Championship, Mortensen had a 16th -place finish alongside current teammates Creed and Davin Thompson who placed 11th and 23rd, respectively.
