PROVO, Utah — No. 22 BYU women's track and field will be represented by distance runners at the Camel City Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Feb. 4.
Meet Information
- Location: JDL Fast Track | Winston-Salem, North Carolina
- Saturday's BYU events begin at 2:02 p.m. EST with the 3000-meters and continue with the 800-meters at 2:40 and mile at 3:08 p.m.
- Admission: $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students 12 and up. Children under 12 are free of admission charge.

Alena Ellsworth and Claire Seymour will compete for BYU in the 800-meters with Seymour facing Lindsey Butler of No. 18 Virginia Tech. Butler and Seymour finished first and second, respectively, in the 800m at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Riley Chamberlain, Lexy Halladay-Lowry and Jenna Hutchins are set to run the 3000-meters and will face Kelsey Chmiel of No. 7 NC State. Chmiel took third at inoor nationals a season ago and holds the 3000m facility record at JDL Fast Track.
Carmen Alder, Alissa Fielding and Heather Hanson will also compete in the mile.

Nationally ranked distance runners
The Cougars' distance runners took strides toward national qualifying with key performances at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas Jan. 27-28.
Taylor Rohatinsky, Annalise Hart, Alena Ellsworth and Sadie Sargent combined to clock 10:57.60 in the distance medley relay, enough to position the squad at seventh nationally.
With a time of 4:33.14 in the women's mile on Jan. 28, BYU freshman Riley Chamberlain moved into a top-10 ranking at No. 8. Chamberlain stands ahead of No. 9 Stanford's Juliette Whittaker and Taylor Roe of No. 14 Oklahoma State. Sargent followed Chamberlain across the finish in Fayetteville and ranks 14th.
Lexy Halladay-Lowry and Aubrey Frentheway maintain top-15 times set at the Boston Season Opener on Dec. 3. Halladay-Lowry is ranked ninth in the 3,000-meters at 9:04.76, while Frentheway holds at No. 12 in the 5000-meters at 15:42.19.
