PROVO, Utah – BYU gymnastics head coach Guard Young has released the home schedule for the 2023 season.

The Cougars finished their 2022 season as the No. 24 team in the nation and made a run to the NCAA Regionals Tournament. The 2022 team finished the season with a 196.640 average and a 393.265 National Qualifying Score (NQS) to hold them among the top 25 programs in the nation. 

The nation took notice of the Cougars as the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference awarded coach Guard Young as the MRGC Coach of the Year and senior standout Sadie Miner-Van Tassell as MRGC Gymnast of the Year. 

Coming off their top spot in the MRGC, the Cougars head into the 2023 season ready to take on new roles and demands. 

During the 2023 season, BYU has four home meets scheduled, three of which are against MRGC competitors. Three of the meets will be held in the Marriott Center and the other will be held in the Smith Fieldhouse. 

The home schedule starts on Jan. 20 when the Cougars host MRGC rival Boise State. The rivalries continue as BYU hosts SUU (Feb. 10) and Utah State (Feb. 24). In March, BYU will welcome Alaska for the final home meet of the season to be held in the Marriott Center (Mar. 1).  

The 2022 NCAA Regionals will take place Mar. 29-Apr. 1 and the Nationals competition will be held Apr. 13-15 in Fort Worth, Texas.
