UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — Annick Haczkiewicz shot even par to lead BYU into sixth place entering the final round of the Seattle University Redhawk Invitational.
Haczkiewicz looks for her fifth top-15 finish of the season as she enters the final round of the Redhawk Invitation in a tie for fourth at even par. The senior had a roller coaster first round with five birdies, four bogeys and a double-bogey to shoot one over. She came back in the afternoon shooting 1-under in round two by carding two birdies and a bogey.
The Las Vegas product trails Emma Spitz of UCLA who sits at 6-under-par and takes a three-shot lead into the final 18-holes tomorrow.
UCLA leads the Invitational after firing rounds of 293-282—575 to lead by seven over Washington who posted 291-293–584 in rounds one and two.
Pepperdine sits in third after shooting 200-290—590 followed by Denver who shot 295-299—594 on day one. Fresno State rounds out the top-5 with rounds of 302-300—602 with BYU sitting in sixth after a 312-296—608 opening day.
Allysha Mae Mateo is tied for 35th after the first 36-holes. She posted rounds of 79-74—153 on the first day. Kerstin Fotu is one-shot back of fellow senior Mateo and carded 78-76—154 in her first two rounds to sit tied for 41st.
Lila Galeai, Alexa Udom and Maddie White each sit in a tie for 68th at 13-over par. Galeai posted 82-75—157 in her opening rounds while Udom and White, who each are playing as an individual posted matching scores of 80-77—157. Addie Anderson rounded out the scoring for the Cougars with a first day 83-81—164.
BYU will tee off tomorrow morning in an 8 a.m. shotgun for the final 18-holes at the home of the 2015 U.S. Open. Live scoring will be available at Birdie Fire.
