PROVO, Utah – BYU will host its ninth annual Football Media Day on Tuesday, June 18, at the BYU Broadcasting Building in advance of the 2019 season and the 150th anniversary of college football.

The annual summer event provides members of the media a day filled with interview sessions with BYU's entire coaching staff, dozens of players and other special guests to help them prepare for the upcoming college football season. Media Day also provides Cougar fans and college football enthusiasts alike the opportunity to learn more about BYU's 2019 team and the upcoming season thanks to a full day of BYU football programming on BYUtv, BYU Radio and other news outlets, including four hours of live shows on ESPN3.
BYUtv will broadcast 12-consecutive hours of programming about BYU football during the day, including three live specials also available on ESPN3: The State of the Program featuring BYU head coach Kalani Sitake; a special two-hour BYU Sports Nation; and 150 Years of College Football: BYU's impact on the game, highlighting the 150th anniversary of college football taking place in 2019.
BYU Radio, available at 107.9 FM in northern Utah and nationally on SiriusXM Channel 143 and online at byuradio.org, also provides significant coverage that will include both original content and simulcasts of The State of the Program, BYU Sports Nation and 150 Years of College Football. Behind the Mic with Greg Wrubell, the Voice of the Cougars, will be broadcast live from noon-2 p.m. MT, featuring interviews with BYU coaches and players as well as special guests attending Media Day.
In addition to BYUtv and BYU Radio broadcasts, fans can tune in to BYUtv.org and the BYU Football Facebook page for live web chats at three different times throughout the day (8-8:45 a.m., 12:15-2 p.m., and 3-3:45 p.m. MT) to hear more from BYU coaches and standout players. Fans can also stay connected with constant social media interaction all day.
Among the highlights of the day are two live shows in addition to the special two-hour BYU Sports Nation. The first live show, The State of the Program, will air at 9 a.m. MT (11 a.m. ET) and features head coach Kalani Sitake live on set along with assistant head coach/special teams coordinator Ed Lamb, offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes and defensive coordinator ‘Ilaisa Tuiaki, while quarterback Zach Wilson, tight end Matt Bushman, linebacker Zayne Anderson and defensive back Dayan Ghanwoloku will represent their teammates to discuss the team’s preparations for the 2019 season. Trevor Matich, ESPN college football analyst, and Kevin Weiberg, executive director of College Football 150th Anniversary, will also participate on the show. The State of the Program will be simulcast on ESPN3 in addition to BYUtv, BYUtv.org and BYU Radio.
BYU Sports Nation will air at 10 a.m. MT (noon ET) on both BYUtv and BYU Radio and simulcast on ESPN3, with an extended two-hour show featuring live interviews with Coach Sitake, Cougar players and coaches, and special guests.
150 Years of College Football: BYU's impact on the game is a live program airing at 2 p.m. MT (4 p.m. ET) on BYUtv that will highlight college football's 150th anniversary in 2019, including BYU's unique contributions to the game. Weiberg and Matich will be guests on set for the live special, in addition to Ivan Maisel, ESPN senior writer and editor-at-large of ESPN College Football 150.
Fans can also follow the day's events by listening to additional local, live radio broadcasts originating from BYU Football Media Day. All three shows and all web chats will also be available on demand at BYUtv.org later in the day.
